way back in time doug played in various clubs and bars in his native scotland, singing a mixture of traditional and contemporary scottish folk songs. over the years he has developed his own style, a blend of ralph mctell, james taylor, gordon lightfoot, and mark knopfler amongst others. doug moved to the us in 1997 and has continued to learn new songs and styles and now has put pen to paper and written a series of ballads that cover his upbringing in scotland, experiences of being an immigrant, and stories of friends and family. his first cd, moons and sons and daughters is a work in progress – you can preview it tonight along with some traditional scottish songs and some stories of home. the cover charge will be donated to doug’s favorite charity – hope for the child.
