“Her songs thoughtfully reflect on love and loss...with graceful turns of phrase and affecting, country-tinged melodies that her lovely, hushed voice brushes with emotion.” CITY PAGES
Americana songstress and multi-instrumentalist, Vicky Emerson returns to the 318 with Matt Patrick on electric guitar and Aaron Fabbrini on bass. Emerson was raised on a small farm in Wisconsin and even though she has lived in Manhattan and San Francisco, she maintains a firm grip on her humble roots and the dusty roads of her past that continue to inspire her music. Emerson has gained a well-earned reputation as a strong Americana artist whose trademark blending of folk and blues have earned her comparisons to Shawn Colvin, Lucinda Williams and Patty Griffin.
Prior to having children, Emerson toured full-time nationally as an independent artist playing over 200 shows every year. Currently, she has resumed touring on a limited basis. Vicky and her husband live in Minneapolis with their two small children.
