David Ullman & Phil Little

What difference does 40 years make?

Crossing genres and generations, David Ullman and Phil Little invite you to a unique evening of songs and stories on Thursday, June 19th from 8-10pm at the 318 cafe in Excelsior.

Ullman is a 34-year-old folk-rocker from Northeast Ohio who now lives in Northfield, Minnesota. He started out writing Buddy Holly knock-offs at the tender age of 8 and has been recording and performing solo since 2005.

Little is s a 74-year-old songwriter from Edina with a focus on country and folk. Since taking up the craft as a 30-year-old, Phil has written over 370 songs!

The two songwriters met at the 318 Open Mic in late 2012, and this special concert is a public continuation of the conversations about life and song they’ve been having since.

Both performers will remain onstage throughout the evening as they share their songs and the stores behind the music, connecting the dots between their varied experiences and compositions.

“This is not the normal show of two performers doing their individual sets,” says Little, a 318 Open Mic regular since 2009. “We found our age and genre differences to be irrelevant when it comes to our music and want to share the overriding similarities with our audience.”
