Emily Jane Davis began performing in 2012 at intimate venues like Cafe Barbette and the Red Stag Supperclub. Since that time, wine bars, bistros and dance venues throughout the Twin Cities and beyond have found her to be the perfect complement. Her repertoire includes classic jazz, Latin-jazz and songs from the swing era that once dominated the pop charts. Polished and true to the lyric while always conveying the rhythm in jazz, she is inspired by artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Madeleine Peyroux. Emily will be joined by guitarist Robert Bell, who specializes in various jazz genres, including Hot Club, French Gypsy jazz, and other sounds of the early 1900s jazz scene. He performs over 260 shows per year, including work as a guest soloist with symphonies, NPR, MPR, Prairie Home Companion and more. Performing in duo format, Emily and Robert share the music that inspires them while connecting listeners to the great jazz art form.
