Matt McAllister is a local talent. Although he was born in Minneapolis and has spent most of his life in the southwest metro area, it wasn’t until he moved to Arizona for a 6 year span when he was young, that he picked up the guitar. 

“I found an old classical guitar in my mom’s closet when I was 9, and I restrung it with steel strings. Then I just started learning simple songs by ear”.   25 years later, he has been in several local bands as well as recorded on several albums, all  while being in at least 3 projects at a time over the last ten years.

Armed with a musical knowledge and experience to boot, Matt started playing solo shows in early 2014.  As the year went on, along with playing in 3 other projects, he forged a path of his own and by the end of the year; he has put 20 solo shows in the Minneapolis metro under his belt.  “Getting your name out is important and I have gotten to play places I’ve only dreamed of and meet so many great people along the way”.
