Gary Denbow is a saxophonist, vocalist, composer, and arranger based in the Twin Cities area. Gary is familiar to audiences at the 318 as the saxophonist and vocalist performing with the great Judy Thomas. He has performed with a number of jazz greats, including Bobby Watson, Adam Meckler, and Hermon Mahari. He has also performed with a number of Grammy winning gospel artists, including Geron Davis, Bryan Duncan, and Billy Steele. He is the Artistic Director for Northstar Big Band, and founder and leader of the Bo Den Bo Project. The son of a pastor, Gary has been performing in front of audiences since he was five years old. He is known for his heart-touching compositions, his exciting and moving sax solos, and his powerful vocal delivery.
Louie Schurrer is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Milwaukee, WI, and now residing in the Twin Cities. Louie studied music from a young age at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, where he worked with Grammy winning artists, and won a Downbeat Jazz Magazine award. After attending school for music in Minneapolis, Louie has performed across the state with various groups playing a multitude of genres, but it has always come back to jazz. He is also the co-founder of the group Night Ark, which writes instrumental world and folk music.
