Will Schmid (guitar), Jesse Thorson (drums), and Conor McGinnis (bass) began playing together as a part of the 2012 award-winning Minnetonka Jazz Ensemble. McGinnis’s savory bass lines and Thorson’s timekeeping truly complement the sometimes warming, sometimes breathtaking guitar melodies of Will Schmid. Under the tutelage of greats like Chris Olson, Nate Babbs, and Miles Mortensen, these youthful improvisers have developed unique sounds with which they craft inspiring originals and fresh takes on jazz standards. Cited influences include Pat Metheny, Victor Wooten, and Dave King.
